With 15 years of dedicated service in South San ISD, I have grown from a passionate science teacher into a committed school counselor. My journey has been guided by deep belief in supporting students both academically and personally.  In the classroom, I fostered curiosity and critical thinking; now, as a counselor, I focus on helping students navigate challenges, build resilience, and plan for their futures. My experience across roles allows me to connect with students and staff in meaningful ways, always working to create a supportive and empowering school environment.

Since 2005 I’ve been proud to serve South San Antonio — coaching volleyball & track, teaching PE, health, and early college, and now supporting students as a counselor. I love guiding students and watching them grow.

For 21 years I've been part of the South San ISD family — 10 years teaching at Shepard Middle School, then counseling at Palo Alto Elementary for 6 years, Kazen Middle School for 2 years, and South San High School for 3 years. I've watched students grow, faced challenges together, and celebrated so many successes.

This is my 18th year as a proud school counselor. I’ve spent the last nine years at South San Antonio High School and have truly enjoyed every moment.  I’m continually inspired by our students’ resilience, dedication, and willingness to confront challenges — they teach me daily and their successes bring me great joy.

I treat our students with the respect I want my own children to receive and I treat parents with the patience and respect I would want for my mother. My goal is to guide our students and provide the resources they need to thrive. I am pleased and honored to serve our students and community.

Mrs. Nicolette Douglas

As the Early College & P-TECH Counselor at South San Antonio High School, I am proud to work in our community and support our Bobcat Scholars as they take on the challenge of earning college credit in high school; this is my 19th year in education, with 15 years proudly serving the South San Antonio community. I am committed to building meaningful relationships while guiding, encouraging, and advocating for each student so they feel confident, supported, and prepared for their future.
